100 YEARS OF GLOBAL RECOGNITION AND UKRAINE’S HISTORICAL ROOTS IN FIATA!

The year 2026 marks a truly significant milestone for the international logistics community. This year, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) celebrates its 100th anniversary! Concurrently, the "Ukrzovnishtrans" Association begins the countdown to its own 35th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2027.
Ukraine’s Historical Significance
Did you know that Ukraine was present at the very inception of this global federation?
FIATA was founded in Vienna on May 31, 1926, with the participation of 5 national and 11 regional organizations. One of its founding entities was the Lviv Regional Association, which remained a full member of FIATA until the events of 1939.
It took more than half a century to restore this connection. In 1994, during a meeting of the FIATA Board in Zurich, the "Ukrzovnishtrans" Association was granted full membership status. Later, in 2016, at the FIATA World Congress in Dublin, our Association was officially presented with a "Founder of the Federation" certificate—a tribute to Ukraine for its contribution to the development of the global freight forwarding movement. The history of celebrating significant milestones in Ukraine holds special importance: on May 31, 2016, the 14th International Freight Forwarder’s Day took place in Odesa as part of "Transport Week." The highlight of this event was a grand celebration of FIATA’s 90th anniversary—held on the very day of its founding.
Continuing this proud tradition, a delegation from the "Ukrzovnishtrans" Association will officially participate in the celebration of FIATA’s 100th anniversary—a milestone being marked by the international logistics community this year—thereby reaffirming Ukraine’s status as a founding nation of the global freight forwarding movement.
FIATA Today
Currently, FIATA stands as the largest international non-governmental organization in the field of logistics. It unites 110 national associations and over 5,500 individual members from 160 countries, representing the interests of approximately 50,000 enterprises that employ 10 million professionals.

We take pride in the fact that the Ukrainian freight forwarding sector is an integral part of this grand, century-long history. We continue to develop logistics, connect nations, and maintain a steadfast economic front!

We congratulate our colleagues and partners on this momentous anniversary!
