The Estonian flag offers fast service and low bureaucracy

In the spring of 2023, a cargo ship flying the flag of Gibraltar was re-registered under the flag of Estonia in one day. The ease of transition is the result of efforts launched in 2020 by the Estonian government. The country is known for its electronic solutions, and the goal was to create a system that would be just as efficient for registering ships.

Black Sea container freight traffic is growing thanks to the recovery in Ukraine

The Black Sea container terminals of Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine handled 979,000 TEU for the first nine months of 2024, including empty containers and transhipment. This is an increase of 14 percent compared to the same period last year, and this jump reflects the revival of container traffic to and from Ukrainian ports.

During the meeting of the European Commission's Land Transport Committee on 18 December 2024, Member States agreed to introduce a two-month notification period, which will run from 1 January to 28 February 2025. The purpose of this period is to facilitate adaptation to the regulations regarding tachographs in vehicles engaged in international transportation.
