Ukraine and Poland have agreed on the transit of grain through joint border inspection posts

Ukraine and Poland agreed to ensure the possibility of transit of grain crops through joint border inspection posts, as well as to ensure its rail transit through the border checkpoints Verkhrat - Rava Ruska, Medika - Shehyni and Krostenko - Smolnytsia.

The corresponding joint statement on the simplification of Ukrainian grain exports was made by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Henryk Kowalczyk.

"In a joint statement, we confirmed the results of our weekly work with the Polish side. The measures envisaged by the statement will significantly simplify the border crossing of our cargo with grain and, accordingly, accelerate and increase exports, which is a priority for the Ministry of Agrarian Policy now," Solsky said. .

In addition to ensuring the transit of Ukrainian grain through Polish border crossings, the parties agreed to increase the number of Polish veterinary inspectors on the border with Ukraine to 19 people, as well as to replace their work schedule with round-the-clock at the busiest border crossings.

The meeting also focused on resolving the issue of transit through the Republic of Poland of Ukrainian animal products of those categories that are not authorized in accordance with EU requirements (pork, beef, lamb, a number of aquaculture goods, etc.).

The competent authorities of both countries have agreed to develop a mechanism for safe and effective control over the transit of such goods and to agree them with the European Commission.
