JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" is preparing changes regarding convergence of tariff classes in freight transportation, board member of the joint-stock company Vyacheslav Yeromin said during the meeting of the Export Office in Kyiv.
"It is planned to simplify the tariff creation procedure. I don't know when it will happen, we are currently preparing the documents. It is planned to make the tariff uniform regardless of what kind of cargo it is. Certain coefficients are planned that will increase or decrease the cost of transportation. For example, when routing, the reduction coefficient, dangerous goods or oversized goods - an increase. There will be one clear and transparent tariff, regardless of the cargo," he said.
Answering the questions of shippers, Yeromin noted that the UZ does not plan a general increase in the level of freight tariffs during the implementation of this reform. "We are not planning a promotion for ourselves in this regard. For us, it will have zero financial result. We are simply simplifying the procedure," he emphasized.
On the other hand, Yeromin does not reject that after unification, transportation costs for low-value goods may increase, and for high-value goods, on the contrary, decrease.
