The Polish terminal in Kholm doubled the capacity of transshipment of grain from Ukraine

ETC Terminal (Holm, Poland) in August 2022 doubled the volume of grain transshipment to 10,000 tons per day. This was achieved thanks to the commissioning of a new transshipment machine with a capacity of 500 tons per hour. "The terminal has started transshipping bulk cargo from grain hoppers with the help of specialized pneumatic machines. Due to the limitation of vehicles, we are starting to load sea containers without hatches with the help of pneumatic devices through the unloading holes," commented ETC Terminal Director Katsper Wiechorek. Regarding bottlenecks in the logistics of Ukrainian grain, the top manager noted: "In the case of the Kholmsk line, the limitation is the Dorogusk-Yagodin railway crossing, which has 3 tracks, 2 of which are used for the transportation of goods. 24-hour blockade of line 101, on which trains run twice a it is blocked for 4 hours a day due to border control. We have proposed that these checks be carried out on the side lane to ensure the movement of goods during this time. We are also monitoring the situation at other rail border crossings and may initiate alternative routes if necessary ".

In the future, the ETC terminal plans to invest in new warehouse space.
