UDP won the contract for transportation for HBIS Serbia
PJSC "Ukrainian Danube Shipping" (UDP) won a contract for the transportation of 500,000 tons of cargo on the Danube for one of the largest steel companies in Europe — HBIS Serbia. This was reported by acting general director of UDP Dmytro Moskalenko.
We start the new year with an important victory. We won the tender of HBIS Serbia, one of the largest European steel producers. The contract provides for the transportation of more than 500,000 tons of cargo and provides the UDP fleet with stable work throughout the year," Moskalenko wrote on Facebook.
According to him, the struggle was not easy. The tender was held among the leading shipping companies of the Danube.
We did a lot of work and convinced our partners to accept favorable terms for UDP. They came to meet us, because thanks to the changes implemented in the shipping industry, we are perceived as a stable and reliable partner whom they trust. Our partners also do not rule out the possibility of increasing the volume of transportation," said the head of the UDP.
PJSC "UDP" carries out river freight transportation on the Danube. The company operates more than 20 self-propelled vessels of the cargo river fleet and approximately 200 non-self-propelled vessels, which allows the operation of approximately 20 barge caravans. The basis of cargo in 2022 will be grain and metallurgical raw materials. In addition, the company began to develop the direction of container transportation and launched regular container caravans.
In 2022, the company increased cargo transportation compared to 2021. In particular, in January-October, the river fleet transported almost 1.5 million tons of cargo.
In 2021, the UDP fleet increased cargo transportation by 3.8% compared to 2020 — up to 1.37 million tons.
