Border guards of Ukraine and Romania resume joint patrols

Recently, a border-representative meeting was held at the Porubne checkpoint, during which the border guards of both countries discussed the issue of joint border protection.

In connection with the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, the Parties agreed that joint patrolling will be resumed at the beginning of April only on the territory of Romania, on the land section of the border.

Also, during the meeting, the border commissioners of Ukraine and Romania agreed on duty schedules, the use of technical means of border protection, and the procedure for joint actions in case of detaining border violators and contraband.

We remind you that the practice of joint patrols was introduced in 2017 as part of the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Romania on joint patrolling of the Ukrainian-Romanian state border and the protocol of the border agencies of both states.
