15 June
2023

On Wednesday, June 14, the Blue Gate bulk carrier with a record deadweight of 24,000 tons is being loaded in the Rheny Seaport. This was reported by the press service of the SE "Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine" (AMPU).

For the Danube ports, this is the first dry cargo of such capacity in the entire history of independent Ukraine (…) Increasing the tonnage of the fleet and the intensity of ship calls, further technical rearmament of capacities are necessary steps on the way to increasing the volume of transshipment through the ports of the Danube region," the press service noted.

In May 2023, the Rheny seaport handled 1 million tons of cargo, setting an absolute record for cargo handling in a month.

The Rhenish Seaport is located on the left bank of the Danube River, 63 miles from the mouth of the river. The design capacity is 7.7 million tons. The number of cargo berths is 33, the length of the cargo berth front is 3.96 kilometers. The port operates SE "Reniya Sea Trade Port", "ReniLis" LLC, "Reni-Terminal" LLC, "Agro-Reni" LLC, TDV "Reniya Elevator", "Reni-Line" LLC, "Ukrchem" LLC, PE " Larus Shipping" and other port operators.

In 2022, the port of Renia increased cargo transshipment by 6.5 times compared to 2021 — up to 6.8 million tons.
