At the Vadul-Siret-Dorneshti crossing, the situation is complicated with the accumulation of wagons

Since the beginning of September, the accumulation of wagons heading towards the Vadul-Siret-Dornesti (Romania) border crossing has significantly increased. This was discussed during a meeting of Ukrainian railway workers with colleagues from Romania and Moldova on September 12.

As Volodymyr Rushchak, head of the Traffic Management Center of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" noted during the online conference, during September, a significant increase in the number of wagons heading towards the Vadul-Siret-Dorneshti border crossing has been observed. If on September 1, 1,025 wagons were moving there, then as of the morning of September 12, there were already 1,846 of them. Of them, 530 units should be transferred to carts for a gauge of 1,435 mm. Others are planned to be delivered on a 1520 mm gauge. In addition, slightly more than 200 wagons must be overloaded. So the total volume of accumulation exceeds 2,000 wagons.

At the same time, in September, the average volume of wagons transferred through the junction increased by 17 units, up to 135 wagons per day.

"It's good that we surrender a little more, but queues, the waiting time for wagons is growing faster than the surrender," emphasized Volodymyr Ruschak.

As the deputy director of the department of commercial work of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" Valery Tkachov specified, due to the accumulation of UZ will not confirm additional load plans for some carriers. They will also monitor queue accumulation. If it increases, they will limit the scheduling of shipments to the relevant carriers. Agreed volumes may be reduced to the rate of actual acceptance.

Note that the other Ukrainian-Romanian border crossing Dyakovo-Halmeu works only at 20% of its capacity.
