TODIS CONFERENCE 2026
The Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community organised the TODIS 2026 Stakeholder Conference on 25 May in Belgrade, bringing together nearly 60 transport stakeholders from across the region to discuss how better data can contribute to better transport planning, investment and decision-making.
TODIS, the Transport Observatory’s digital information system, helps collect and systematise key information on the transport network in the Western Balkans. Its aim is to provide reliable data that can help authorities, experts and partners understand how the transport network is developing, where improvements are needed and how the region is progressing towards integration with the EU transport system.
The conference focused on new functionalities of TODIS, including key performance indicators based on Regulation (EU) 2024/1679, as well as new modules on climate resilience and rail market monitoring. These tools will help to gain a clearer picture of transport infrastructure, services and efficiency across the region.
Particular attention was paid to practical work with data. In dedicated group sessions on different transport modes, participants worked on collecting, reviewing and uploading data into the system. This practical approach is essential for TODIS to become a useful and reliable platform for policy planning, investment preparation and monitoring of the extended TEN-T network in the Western Balkans.
The Transport Observatory is intended to become the main regional repository of information for the TEN-T network in the Western Balkans. It supports the work of the Transport Community in monitoring the network’s performance and preparing consolidated development plans, and provides information that can be useful for citizens, businesses, public authorities and investors.
