10,000 trains have been sent from China to Europe since the beginning of 2022

 

As of August 21, 10,000 trains have been sent from China to Europe since the beginning of 2022. According to China Railways, the volume of transportation reached 972,000 TEU, which is 5% more than a year earlier.

Trains are sent on 82 routes to 200 cities in 24 European countries and carry more than 50,000 types of cargo in 53 categories, including cars and components, clothing and accessories, grain and wood.

It is noted that China is making significant efforts to increase throughput and freight capacity in connection with Europe, upgrading transport infrastructure within the country and coordinating infrastructure measures with partner countries.

In China, there are three main routes for freight trains in connection with European countries. On the eastern route with access to the Trans-Siberian highway, the volume of transportation increased by 41.3% compared to the same period of 2020, on the central route through Mongolia by 15.2% and on the western route with access to Kazakhstan by 20.7%.
