The Council returned the duty on car imports from July 1.
234 people's deputies supported depriving people of the opportunity to save their lives and help others.
To save the faces of deputies, a zero duty was left for cars for the needs of the Armed Forces. But this decision will still hit the military, because not everyone can write official inquiries or even deal with registration. Many people buy what has already been brought to Ukraine for cash.
This will further harm volunteers, who also need transport to transport goods and evacuate citizens. Now they will not be able to replace cars that break down at space speed.
Similarly, the families of Ukrainians whose cars were shot by the Russian military or who were simply forced to leave them while fleeing the war will live without means of transportation.
At the same time, it will not play a big role for the budget, because people will simply stop importing cars. I hope that the President will make the right choice and will not sign this law.
