Canada, Sweden, Lithuania and Ukraine signed a comprehensive declaration on the creation of the Ukraine Transport Support Fund (UTSF).
The declaration on the creation of the new Ukraine Transport Support Fund (UTSF) - an international instrument for promoting the renewal and modernization of Ukrainian transport, was signed in Brussels.
Canada, Lithuania, Sweden and Ukraine housed the foundation within the group of sleeping interests in the supply of transport of Ukraine (CIG4U) of the International Transport Forum, reports the CFTS.
The declaration was signed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing of Sweden Andreas Carlson, the Minister of Transport and Communications of Lithuania Juras Taminskas, the Advocate Minister of Policy of the Ministry of Transport of Canada Craig Gatton and the Advocate Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Serhiy Derkach.
Behind the words of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Renewal of Ukraine - the Minister of Community Development and the territory of Oleksia Kulebi, created by the Fund for Supporting Transport of Ukraine - this is an extremely important time before the renovation and modernization of the transport system of Ukraine. “Our country is facing unprecedented demand, and the support of our partners gives us the opportunity to renew our efforts and lay the foundation for a modern, sustainable transport system integrated with Europe measures. We highly value the leadership of Canada, Lithuania and Sweden, as well as the support of all countries, how they get to these sleeping zusils. This is a useful example of international solidarity,” he said.
The new fund could become an effective tool that will help Ukraine develop a transport system that meets the needs of the population and the demand of the futureth, translations by Oleksiy Kuleba.
The relevant ministry says that UTSF provides grants for the implementation of projects aimed at updating and modernizing infrastructure in all types of transport: road, transport, maritime, aviation, Russian mobility and logistics.
In the future, there will be a high-level dialogue within the framework of which other countries may be able to reach a declaration and make contributions to the fund.
At the hour of signing the declaration, Sergiy Derkach emphasized that the Fund for Supporting Transport of Ukraine is not just a political need, but a practical tool that allows for the implementation of real, relevant projects in localities. “Ukraine’s transport system will require both radical repairs and strategic modernization, and the Fund is creating a clear mechanism for direct assistance where it is needed the most,” he emphasized.
The priority is to work in such a way that skin deposits are recreated upon completion of the project. And the same - updated roads and bridges, efficient checkpoints, stable logistics routes and daily public transport systems. We are always clear about the procedures, coordinated interaction between donors and the selected selection of projects, the fund will help move from plans to implementation, respects Sergiy Derkach.
