The European Union is developing a procedure for recognizing Ukrainian driver's licenses.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, this was reported by dpa with reference to the German government.
"The European Commission is working on an agreement on road transport with Ukraine, which, among other things, provides for the recognition of driver's licenses and certificates of qualification for the carriage of goods," the statement said.
Such measures are taken to help Ukrainian refugees and transport companies: many of them need driver's licenses to work.
Under current German law, foreigners from non-EU countries but living in Germany are allowed to use their driver's licenses for six months. After this period, they must obtain a German driver's license.
