For the first time since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukrainian sailors were allowed to go on a foreign voyage
Almost two dozen sailors are on board one of the ships transporting grain for export.
17 sailors from Ukraine left as part of the crew on board the bulk carrier GLORY (Marshall Islands flag), which left the port of Chornomorsk for Turkey on August 7 as part of a grain corridor.
As TTS writes with reference to The Maritime Telegraph, this was reported by the crewing agency Alpha Navigation, which employed 6 sailors on the ship.
It is noted that the sailors were enthusiastic about the opportunity to help free the ship from the port, which had been under blockade since February 24. Six crew members were found in less than a day, the crew noted.
As of the evening of August 8, the bulk carrier GLORY approached the Bosphorus Strait, where it was supposed to undergo an inspection by the Joint Coordination Group.
