The document, in particular, deals with the development of new railway connections with the European track.
The G7 countries confirmed their support for strengthening cross-border communication, including infrastructure and building sustainable supply chains, as well as the integration of Ukraine's transport network through the development of new railway connections with the European track.
As TTS writes with reference to information from the Ministry of Reconstruction, this is stated in the declaration approved at the results of the G7 transport ministers' summit.
"We will continue to work with the Ukrainian authorities, European institutions and international financial institutions through the Multi-agency Donor Coordination Platform (MDCP) in Ukraine and attracting private investments," the document says.
G7 transport ministers welcome various initiatives aimed at the resilience of global supply chains despite Russia's illegal aggression against Ukraine, such as the Ukrainian Black Sea Maritime Corridor and the OECD Ukraine Programme. They recognize the EU-Ukraine Initiative "Paths of Solidarity" as a vector for the integration of Ukraine and Moldova into the European transport zone and as a permanent "gateway" to the EU single market and global supply chains.
The G7 transport ministers also emphasized the importance of the Ukrainian Black Sea Maritime Corridor as an economic and efficient export corridor across the Black Sea, the Black Sea demining initiative, as well as the implementation of the Agreement between the EU and Ukraine on road freight transport.
The participants of the Summit emphasized the importance of restoring the destroyed transport systems to facilitate the rapid recovery of Ukraine from the consequences of Russia's illegal war of aggression.
"Thus, we are fully committed to continuing the work aimed at the reconstruction of sustainable, smart and safe transport systems in Ukraine. The infrastructure and transport systems of Ukraine are of crucial importance not only for the recovery of Ukraine's economy and the well-being of its citizens, but also for the recovery of international transport connectivity that will benefit global trade and supply chains," the declaration said.
The meeting also announced the creation of a G7 working group on supply chains to focus on pressing transport challenges.
