Kazakhstan and Turkey are working on the ratification of the intergovernmental agreement oninternational multimodal cargo transportation. It is planned to create a joint transport development committee to settle all issues of the implementation of the agreement.
The draft law on the ratification of the agreement is aimed at simplifying freight transportation using various types of transport and developing trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey. Ratification of the agreement will increase the volume of cargo transportation between the two countries by road, rail and water transport.
According to the Deputy Minister of Transport of the country, Satzhan Ablaliev, the document provides for regular railway and ferry operations on the Caspian Sea, the provision of appropriate connections and transit services on railway lines connecting the states, in particular, for international container block trains, and also defines the conditions of transportation cargoes of countries taking into account the rules of customs clearance.
"Currently, we are working on reducing the delivery time of goods from China to Europe via the combined Trans-Caspian international transport route. It involves rail, road and water transport. Already today, the time for the passage of goods and the delivery of goods along the route has been reduced to 19-23 days. of them, 6 days - on the territory of Kazakhstan. This is twice as fast as last year. This agreement will affect the development of TMTM," said Satzhan Ablaliev.
