Navigation in the Bosphorus has been suspended in both directions. This was stated by the Main Coast Guard of Turkey, Anadolu reported.
The movement of ships off the coast of Istanbul in the direction from north to south was suspended from April 20 from 2:00 local time, and from south to north - from 6:15.
Information on the resumption of traffic through the Strait is not reported.
It will be recalled that at the end of February, the Russian Federation blocked one of the areas of the Black Sea for military exercises, through which the route from the Bosphorus to Odessa runs. The warning to close several maritime areas in the Black Sea expired on 19 February.
It should be noted that in 2021 Turkey increased exports by 32.8% compared to 2020 - up to $ 225.3 billion. Imports increased by 23.6% to $ 271.4 million.
As reported by GMK Center, in January-February, Turkey increased by 87% of imports of pig iron from Ukraine compared to the same period in 2021 - to 71.5 thousand tons / year of rolled products to Turkish plants decreased by 14% to 182.2 thousand tons, and blanks - by 38.4% to 84.8 thousand tons.
Turkey ranks seventh in the world in terms of steel production. According to World Steel, the country in 2021 increased steel production by 13% compared to 2020 - up to 40.4 million tons.
