In October, an electronic queue for the passage of motor vehicles will start operating at the border
From October, the electronic queue service for freight vehicles will start working in test mode on the western border. At the first stage, the E-queue pilot project will be launched at one of the checkpoints. In the test mode, the web portal will work with the possibility of entering the queue from any exit point. And by the end of the year, a corresponding mobile application will be presented.
According to TTS, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mustafa Nayem, announced this.
"The system will provide for integration with customs databases for preliminary prioritization of cargo. The system will be able to independently manage cargo flows depending on the group of goods according to the data of the previous customs declaration. The use of E-queue will be completely free for carriers. No mandatory visits to service areas. No human intervention in the system," Nayem said.
He also added that the electronic queue by itself will not solve the issue of idle trucks in queues at the border. But taking into account the approach of winter, using the electronic queue can be useful. "Waiting in line along the tracks in the frost is, firstly, uncomfortable, and secondly, it leads to additional expenses for drivers. E-queue will provide a convenient and understandable service for users, which will save time and wait for crossing the border at any convenient location." , - the official explained.
