Odessa customs blocked a scheme to import almost 370,000 polypropylene bags under the guise of humanitarian aid

The truck, driven by a citizen of Ukraine, arrived by ferry at the Orlivka checkpoint from Turkmenistan.

In the Declaration on the list of goods recognized as humanitarian aid submitted for customs clearance, which was marked by the customs authorities of Romania, it was stated that the bags produced in Turkmenistan are going to the address of one of the Ukrainian charitable organizations.

At the same time, the invoice provided by the driver stated that the recipient of the batch of bags is a commercial enterprise.

It is this company that is indicated on the labeling of packages with bags.

Moreover, during the customs inspection of the driver's cabin, the customs officials found in a folder with documents accompanying documents containing information about the commercial recipient of the cargo and the invoice with the cost of the cargo.

Due to the fact of submitting documents to the customs office with knowingly false information about the recipient of the goods in order to avoid payment of customs payments, a protocol was drawn up on violation of customs rules based on part 1 of article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

367.5 thousand bags, the customs value of which is more than UAH 1.2 million, were seized.
