At the Polish border, a checkpoint will be opened only for empty trucks
Against the background of the aggravation of the situation with the accumulation of cargo vehicles on the Ukrainian-Polish border, an agreement was reached to open a temporary checkpoint only for empty trucks. "A preliminary agreement has been reached on the opening of another checkpoint, which will be temporarily used for the departure of empty freight vehicles. Additional information on the location of the checkpoint and the launch dates will be provided after technical details have been agreed," Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Mustafa Nayem said, as quoted by TTS . We will remind you that on Monday, the queue of vans in the direction of one of the checkpoints from the Ukrainian side reached a length of 54 km. Mustafa Nayem said that the main reason for the current queues at the border is the low efficiency of the Polish services that carry out phytosanitary and veterinary control. He cited data that before the war, up to 80 trucks per day were inspected, and in recent days - from 12 to 25. On September 5, Polish truck drivers blocked the road at the Dorogusk checkpoint with the demand to establish 24-hour phytosanitary and veterinary control at the Polish-Ukrainian border. the border, and also that empty trucks returning to Poland should be allowed through without a queue.
