Polish parliamentarians call on the European Commission to introduce restrictions on the import of food from the aggressor country and its ally.
On March 8, the Polish Seimas adopted a resolution calling for the introduction of sanctions on the import of Russian and Belarusian agricultural products.

441 deputies voted for the relevant decision, two abstained.
"We call on the European Commission to submit a proposal to introduce sanctions on the import of Russian and Belarusian food and agricultural products into the EU," the draft resolution reads.
The document notes that imports of food and agricultural products from Russia and Belarus continue to bring huge revenues to their producers, sellers and budgets.
"Our moral duty is soupincite trade that can directly or indirectly contribute to strengthening the ability of Russia and Belarus, which supports it, to continue the war against Ukraine," the document says.
Earlier it was reported that in 2023, Poland imported goods worth $2.6 billion from Russia, and $450 million from Belarus. Imports of agricultural products from Russia to Poland reached 117 million dollars and exceeded the level of 2021.
