On October 16-18, the second module of the Business Association Development Academy - a training program for leaders of Ukrainian business associations of micro, small and medium-sized businesses, implemented by the National SME Platform with the assistance of UNDP in Ukraine and financial support from the Government of Japan, was held in Vinnytsia.
The module is called “Leadership, Services and Membership” and is aimed at developing the capacity of business associations to effectively represent the interests of their members, build effective teams and develop the service of their organizations.
The first day was on the topic of "Leadership and Team Building"
We took a study tour to the industrial park of Vinnytsia, which was conducted by Andriy OCHERETNYI - Deputy Mayor of Vinnytsia
The first block of training aimed to consider the development of a leader's character, leader's commitment and organizational development, staff involvement, forming a culture of involvement, centralization vs. decentralization of management, building trust in teams using interesting cases. This block was conducted by Andriy ROZHDESTVENSKYI - Executive Director of the UCU Leadership Center.
On the same day, there was an interesting master class. Pitch Deck and Pitching to promote own projects conducted by Dmytro SOFINA – Head of the International Center for Research and Development of Artificial Intelligence WINSTARS.AI
The second day was held under the slogan “Service-oriented organization”
From Anastasia VLADYCHYNSKA – Consultant on Customer and Collaborative Experience, we learned answers to the questions How to manage the impressions of association members? How to expand membership and create real value for members? How not to be afraid to raise prices for association members?
And also conducted practical exercises using our own experience of the association.
And at the end of the day, a familiarization visit was held to the Vinnytsia Tourism Office (facebook.com/VinnytsiaTurismOffice) where there was a meeting with Tetyana MAEVSKAYA - director of the office and the Vinnytsia Hospitality Association "KhlibSil" (facebook.com/HlibSil) Inna KRYVESHKO - head of the association
The third day was dedicated to getting to know the business community of Vinnytsia.
We visited the KNESS Group Company and the Vinnytsia Innovation and Technology Park "Krystal" where Daria NYSPORSKAYA - executive director of the Vinnytsia IT Association (it-vn.org.ua) talked about the work of the association, and Vladyslav SKALSKYY - deputy mayor of Vinnytsia about the development of entrepreneurship in the city.
Volodymyr MEREZHKO enthusiastically spoke about the Vinnytsia Business Club (facebook.com/VinnytsiaBusinessClub), and Hutsol SERHIY, the chairman of the board, about the AgroVin Agrocluster (facebook.com/agrovincluster).
The project “Academy of Business Association Development: Strengthening the Organizational Capacity of Ukrainian Business Associations as Intermediaries between Micro, Small and Medium-Sized, and Large Businesses” is being implemented by the National Platform of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine (UNDP Ukraine) and financial support from the Government of Japan provided within the framework of the “Transformational Recovery for the Security of People in Ukraine” initiative.
