The shipping register got a new manager
The Shipping Administration has appointed Serhii Gurskyi as the General Director of the State Enterprise "Classification Society Register of Shipping of Ukraine". This was announced by the head of the Shipping Administration, Yevhenii Ignatenko.
The work of the Register of Shipping of Ukraine must be coordinated and effective, because its main function is to ensure the safety of shipping. Serhii Gurskyi, who has considerable experience in the field of shipping, will, together with the Registry's team of specialists, adjust all processes and determine future priorities. One of the key factors for me personally is transparency and openness, I am sure that Serhiy shares my views and good results await all of us," Ignatenko wrote in Telegram.
From the very beginning of his career, Gursky was involved in the organization of ship repair, modernization and construction. After years of work at the Kherson Shipyard, as well as at the Smart-Maritime Group LLC, he assumed the position of chief shipbuilder of the Ocean Shipyard LLC, where he took control of all production. Later, in 2021, he took the position of general director at the same enterprise — he supervised the activities, organized the work, and formed the development strategy of the "Ocean" shipbuilding plant.
At the beginning of April, the Shipping Administration dismissed Oleksandr Riffa, who headed the Register since November 2021, from the position of General Director of the State Enterprise "Classification Society Register of Shipping of Ukraine".
