And it began with a study visit to the Design Hub "Mlyn", conducted by Roman MYKHAYLOV, the founder of the hub.

The Design Hub "Mlyn" is a new educational and exhibition center for modern Ukrainian design, located in Podil in Kyiv, in the building of the former KyivMlyn factory. The hub's design concept is based on the history of the place and the idea of a "mill" as a place of gathering ideas and transformation, which is reflected in the exhibition spaces and events.

Concept: The hub got its name from the historical location - the KyivMlyn factory, which symbolizes the revival and transformation of space for the development of Ukrainian design.

Functionality: The hub has two main zones:

Exhibition hall: It hosts curated exhibitions of furniture, decor and other interior items from leading Ukrainian brands. The exhibitions are updated every 3-4 months.

Podium area: A space for lectures, master classes, presentations and discussions.

Design and atmosphere: The design of the space is inspired by natural materials and cycles, which is reflected in the palette of natural shades (sand, terracotta, earthy, graphite) and the use of materials such as untreated wood and metal.

Goal: Creating a professional community, a place to exchange ideas, find partnerships and create new design solutions.

Giorgi Tskhakaia – an expert on state economic policy and deregulation (in the past – Deputy Minister of Economy, Director General of the Tax Service of Georgia) gave answers about the experience of economic reforms: why should Ukraine learn from Georgia?

UNIT.City is a prototype of the city of the future. An ecosystem that promotes the development of innovative entrepreneurship and research. As well as the creation of companies that are successful in the global market. Although UNIT is not actually a city, it is being developed according to international smart city standards, which prioritize safety, ecology, energy efficiency, health of residents, etc. The concept of the innovation park involves the implementation of several information and communication technologies and IoT solutions to improve the quality of life and work efficiency in UNIT.City.
