Transportation of goods by rail through the Berezina-Basarabyask crossing may start by the end of February

Transportation of goods by rail through the Berezina-Basarabiaska border crossing (Moldova) may be operational by the end of February, it was said during a meeting of JSC UZ with carriers from Romania and Moldova.

At the event, the issue of opening a checkpoint on the border with Moldova Berezyne-Basarabiaska was discussed.

As Volodymyr Serbinov, a representative of "Zaliznytsia Moldova" State Enterprise, said, on February 14, a meeting was held with the participation of representatives of the railways, border and customs services of both countries, dedicated to this issue.

"I think so, by the end of the month, the railway freight service can start working. Because we have already received from Ukrzaliznytsia, customs and border guards the agreed technology for the operation of the border crossing," the official explained.

He also added that there are already requests for the transportation of goods through this border crossing.
