In Ukraine launch the "Danube grain route" project

After Russia's withdrawal from the grain agreement, Ukraine will redirect the cargo flow from the Black Sea ports to the Danube ports.

This was reported by the General Director of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) Ihor Moskalenko. According to him, the actions of the Russians were predictable, and the Ukrainians began to prepare for the breakdown of the grain agreement since the summer, systematically developing the "Danube Grain Route" project. It envisages the shipment of grain through the Ukrainian Danube river ports immediately to large-tonnage sea vessels that will go to Romanian Constanta.

The shipping industry expects that due to the faster loading and unloading process, the average caravan turnover time will be reduced by approximately 30%. Cargo owners will not have to bear financial losses due to long waits in line at the terminal.

"In particular, UDP invested in the creation of its own grain transshipment. We also agreed with our Romanian partners - the TTS group of companies - on a faster and more efficient transshipment scheme at the port of Constanța," Moskalenko said.

At the second stage of the "Danube Grain Route" project, the construction of new barges is planned, because now the possibility of increasing "tonnage" has actually been exhausted.
