Ukrainian exports are under threat. Vessels that came for Ukrainian exports were put "on the counter" in the waters of Romania.
It so happened that partly Ukrainian exports are tied to the Danube and the Sulinsky Sea Canal.
And there was a traffic jam there, yesterday there were about 90 ships. Piloting through the canal is carried out by the Romanian side, which has never encountered such an influx of ships before.
Moreover, the situation has been developing from bad to worse for the last 4 weeks.
The Ukrainian side voiced a number of proposals on how to speed up the escort of ships. Up to the use of tugs / pilots in those areas where it is possible and makes sense.
But the administration of the channel is very conservative, and it looks like they are going to do NOTHING about it.
Romanians have their own vision of how the queue is built. This issue is resolved exclusively by the administration of the channel. In closed mode. There are priority cargoes, there are thieves Romanian cargoes. There is a shortage of pilots who guide the ship all the way to the Ukraine.
As a result, ships expect posting for 10 days or more.
Every day - paid, each for the money of Ukrainian exporters. That's a total of $0.5 million per day.
Because - the Romanians do not have enough pilots, inspection and formalities are done on the pier, and not on the roads, etc. etc.
For a long time, everyone fought at their own level, but given that exports are all we have left, this problem needs to be raised at the level of heads of government. And decide. Urgently.
In this regard, I tag here all those who can quickly raise this issue.
USPA is aware, they are fighting, they have made proposals to the Romanian side, but this is not enough for now.
