Ukrzaliznytsia held a large-scale conference dedicated to procurement - "Supplier Day 2024".

28 March
2024

For the first time, the company gathered current and potential suppliers of goods and services, representatives of authorities, state bodies and experts on one site.

"Ukrzaliznytsia is a major infrastructure company that has proven over the past two years that the work of railway workers is a huge contribution to the security of the country, ensuring the viability of the economy, and protecting the civilian population. In these years, our volume of purchases amounted to UAH 80 billion, and in 2024 we plan to increase the annual volume to UAH 65 billion, but the main issue is not money, but those projects that Ukrzaliznytsia implements. We restore and build new infrastructure, help increase the export of Ukrainian products not only to the European Union, but also to Black Sea ports and Danube ports. And we make our procurements as transparent as possible, in particular thanks to an open dialogue with our partners", Yevhen Lyashchenko, chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", said at the opening of the conference.

Thus, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced the practice of "round tables" with suppliers, and is working on improving the tender documentation. Currently, every major tender that Ukrzaliznytsia plans to announce begins with a discussion with potential participants. The company's goal is to increase the number of manufacturers and suppliers of products necessary for the railway industry and to create transparent competition.

Also, the heads of procurement, passenger, infrastructure verticals, directions of electrification and power supply, production, development and innovation presented the results of work and procurement plans for 2024.

In addition, the round tables "Tender procedures, product categories" and "Technical requirements, import substitution, demonopolization" were held as part of the conference, during which the participants discussed current issues of the procurement process.
