"Ukrzaliznytsia" will not ban the transportation of grain in semi-wagons yet
However, the initial decision about the need for such a ban in the company is considered correct.
In the near future, "Ukrzaliznytsia" will not introduce a ban on the transportation of grain cargo in semi-wagons.
As CTS writes, Oleksandr Kamyshin, the chairman of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" announced this on the evening of February 8.
"After consulting with farmers, Minister of Agrarian Policy Solsky and talking with Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov, I decided to abandon this decision. We will not ban the transportation of grain in semi-trailers at this stage," informed the head of JSC UZ, noting that today the company must do everything for the interests of the state, "even if for this it is necessary to abandon one's own undeniably correct decision."
"I believe that this decision is correct. The grain must go in grain trucks. The transportation technology must be implemented. But today we must think not only about the company's interests, but also about the effect our decisions impose on the country's economy during the war." - noted Kamyshin.
We will remind that the day before, the management of UZ informed the market participants that from March 1, it intends to prohibit the transportation of grain in semi-wagons of the private fleet, leaving such an opportunity only for semi-wagons of "Ukrzaliznytsia".
Such a statement by the management of "Ukrzaliznytsia" did not find support among participants in the grain transportation market.
